My Terrarium

This picture shows mine and my partners terrarium. The supplies we used were: Water, Soil, Seeds (Peas, Corn, Barley, and Radish) , Saran wrap, Tubs (for holding everything) , Isopods and Darkling Beetles, Grass, Runways (for our bugs), and apples and carrots for our experiment. Mine and my partners plants grew very big.


The environmental factors that were tested were to see if isopods liked apples or carrots better on grass. At the end of the experiment we found out that the isopods like apples better than carrots.

All our plants grew great, but the best one was Radish . It grew huge. In the picture its the one if the top left. The worst plant in our terrarium was the Clovers. The only reason they did not grow very big is because the root came out of the ground which stop it to grow.

When we put in the grass, carrots, and apples in our terrarium, after a week or 2 the apples and carrots started to rot, and the grass died. At first it looked very ugly, but then we moved the grass around and it didn't look to bad, but not great. This experiment was fun, and it was fun to experience with plants and build our own terrariums and plant our own plants with no parent help ( but our teacher).

This picture is apart of activity night. Activity night, our 5Th grade teachers: Mr. Reed, Mr. Harrison, and Mrs. Smith. Our first night at camp was awesome. We all had a color group. My color was orange. In the morning, the oranges first class was the 5 mile hike. It was where a bus dropped us off a couple miles away from the camp complex, and with our teacher, we had to hike back to find our way back. I'm the one in the turquoise sweater, the second from the far left. Next to me was the polgar. That was Nick. Next to Nick is Bobby. On my left is Rita. We were together for activity night. Sleeping in the dorms was very annoying the first night, because girls kept running into the bathroom and flushing the toilets. In the dorms the boys were on the bottom and the girls were on the top part of the building. Me and my friend Hanna bunked together. There is 2 sides on the top. there was a left and a right. looking from the steps, I was on the right side of the dorms. At camp, it was just like a regular school day, but we had 2 classes and 4/6 are hikes. We only went to 5 classes out of 6. In the morning when we woke up we had chores, I was lucky enough that I didn't have to clean the toilets. Our last day at camp was sad and happy. I was so glad I went to camp. It's the best days ever in my life, and the best camp I've been to.

Foss Plane

This picture describes how we put strings on the back of our chairs to hold our planes up, so we could wind up the planes to see how many winds it takes to get the planes all the way to the end of the string.

My class and me, made Foss planes. Its very fun here's how we made them.



We made it by first having to sand Popsicle sticks. then we had to cut a regular straw in 2, and use a hole punch, to put a hole in it. Once we put a hole in the straw, we got a second straw (a jumbo straw) and slide on the regular straw on the jumbo straw. Next we had to put the Popsicle sticks on, this part was kind of hard. But we got threw it, you had to hold the sticks together and not have any part of the straw showing on the bottom strings. We had to use a stapler to hold them on. After that we put on a propeller and a clip to hold the rubber band. Next we set up string on the back of our chairs. You had to wind up the propeller to make the plane move. You had to wind the plane clockwise to have it actually move. For mine and my partners plane, it took about 31 winds to get our plane across the string. Next we had to first predict how many winds it would take to get our plane to go half way. We guessed about 14 or 15. Next we had to actually text our plane. The actual amount of winds was 25 winds to get half way, we were way off.

During the experiment we had to test different rubber bands, such as thick yellow, blue, green etc, there was also skinny rubber band the same colors. We had a contest to see who could get to the other side of the string with the lowest amount of winds.

I learned during this experiment, that when your going to change a variable you can only change on variable at a time because, you won't know which variable made the difference in the experiment. Also if you don't wind the plane up the right way, your plane will not move.

Softball Season

Hey everyone, every week on fridays my softball team (The Outlaws) always get together to practice. Our first practice all together inside was a lot of fun because, we got to play games while still learning softball. Our practices are 3 hours long it goes 6-9.


The girls names on my softball team are Sarah, Abby, Kyra, Madison, Rianna, Michaela, Cari, Taylor, Chase, Sydney, Sabrina, Riley, Kaylee, Molly and Audrie. The positions I play are 1st base, Right field, Pitcher, and Catcher.


All the positions I play I like but Right field. I'm good there but its not my favorite place to be because, nobody really hits the ball out that far. Every game about 1 or 2 hours before our game in Total Sports we go upstairs by the batting cages we practice with a machine that shoots the softballs for us to bat with. Outlaws colors are Black Yellow and White.

Right now my softball team is doing a Winter Fast Pitch Leage. Everything is the same as a regular season but you play indoors and when your up to bat you start with 1 ball and 1 strike. We don't really play for who wins, this leage is just for fun.

Softball is my favorite sport it's a lot of fun. Most of my friends play softball with me. Last year with my team we sponsered TSS photgerphy, and I made the All Star team. Only 3 people for each team makes the All Star team. Later on I will book you up about my Softball year so far.
